Christmas In the Boomtown

Christmas has come to the boomtown
The lights set the oil rigs aglow
The tanker trucks drown out the bell's ringing
A manger scene shakes in the snow

Christmas has come to the boomtown
Main street never sleeps anymore
And the money flows in and the money flows out
Making wealthier those who were wealthy before

Christmas has come to the boomtown
The bars and churches burn bright
The Salvation Army's working overtime
And a bell ringer breaks up a fight
On this boomtown Christmas night

It's easy to find a make believe romance
If the season makes lonely the life of a transplant
Then it's home to a trailer or something called a mancamp
An empty place to hide… it's Christmas

Christmas has come to the boomtown
And the stars twinkle bright up above
Just like they do over Texas
And the ones you're thinking of

Yeah, the gold rush has come to the boomtown
Rolls out in the trucks and through the pipes
Hear the voices of the Lutheran choir
All is calm, sing all is bright
On this boomtown Christmas night
